TEAM LV HOSTS ORIENTATION FOR THOUSANDS OF LOCAL VOLUNTEERS IN PREPARATION FOR SUPER BOWL LVIII

On Friday, Jan. 19, the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee welcomed TEAM LV coaches and playmakers from across the Las Vegas community for an orientation and pep rally in preparation for Super Bowl LVIII. Supported by sponsors, Caesars Entertainment and Intermountain Healthcare, Friday’s orientation served as an all-access information filled session for over 7,000 volunteers at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center.

Coaches and playmakers heard from the FBI and LVMPD Fusion team along with a lineup of speakers featuring, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee, Sam Joffray, President of the Las Vegas Raiders, Sandra Douglass Morgan, Senior Vice President of Volunteer Operations for the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee, Trevor Bobb, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Steve Hill, President and CEO of Intermountain Healthcare, Rob Allen, and Regional President of Caesars Entertainment, Sean McBurney as well received a general community update. Each volunteer was also provided with an official TEAM LV uniform to wear during Super Bowl week events. Coaches and playmakers were also treated to performances by the Raiderettes, UNLV Rebel Girls and UNLV Cheer team.

During the event, guests were witness to a special Super Bowl LVIII ticket giveaway. The NFL and the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee, with support from Las Vegas Raiders Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer Michael Crome, surprised Samuel Johnson Jr., Kathleen O’Connor, William (Bill) O’Connor and Mario Berlanga, Jr. of Mario’s Westside Market with four tickets to Super Bowl LVIII. Mario’s Westside Market, serving the Historic Westside of Las Vegas for over 24 years, is the longest operating market the Westside neighborhood. The owners of the market are not only committed to providing access to healthy foods, but also go above and beyond to support their community through various initiatives including Bolden Little League, a free baseball league for children, school supply and backpack donations to those in need, conducting a holiday gift drive, and providing individuals with access to a kitchen to consume healthy foods.

The National Football League’s Super Bowl Ticket Giveaway Program, #SuperBowlSurprise, thanks the league’s most passionate and dedicated fans by offering tickets to the NFL’s biggest event of the season, the Super Bowl. In its seventh year, the program has provided thousands of fans with the opportunity to attend the league’s biggest event of the season, while also highlighting their dedication to their local communities and clubs.
